Looking for candles that are safe for dogs, cats, birds, and other pets? Candles made with paraffin wax, which is a petroleum byproduct, can release harmful chemicals like toluene and benzene when burned. These can irritate a pet’s respiratory system. Our candles are paraffin-free. They’re also lead-free. Some candles use metal-core wicks, often made with lead, which can be toxic to pets if they ingest any particles. Our candles use all-natural coconut apricot wax, which is safe for both humans and animals.

Jewel Cave captures the mystique of South Dakota's most enchanting underground wonder. This hand-poured artisan candle blends coconut-apricot wax with dual organic cotton wicks, delivering a clean 50-60 hour burn in a laser-engraved glass vessel that glows like a mini-fireplace when lit. 100% USA-made and sourced, Jewel Cave is soot-free, paraffin-free, phthalate-free, and endocrine-safe—making it perfect for homes with pets and families who prioritize clean air. No harmful chemicals, no lead-core wicks, just pure, natural fragrance that honors the Black Hills.
On the first burn, allow the wax pool to reach close to the vessel edge. Keep the candle away from drafts, never burn longer than four hours at a time, and stop use when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.
After the final burn, let the vessel cool completely, remove the remaining wax and wick tabs, then wash gently. Reuse the engraved glass as a keepsake, desk cup, planter, or small storage container.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these candles! Soon after I opened my first package from Black Hills I went online and ordered two more candles. Hahaha and by soon after I mean 4 minutes. :) Wonderful smell and beautifully detailed jars. Also, came with a hand written letter and sticker. Which means a lot and shows you care for your customers. I’m telling anyone and everyone in my little town in Indiana you gotta order candles from Black Hills ONLY .

I am OFFICIALLY a huge fan! My family and I are super sensitive to most “BIG” name candles and for myself they often trigger migraines. I can say I have burnt this along with 2 other scents this weekend and I have had SO many compliments on their scents as well as NO migraine- These candles burn clean and evenly and make any space smell delicious without being overpowering!!!

Love Black Hills candles. I can tell a huge difference in the clean burning compared to other candle companies. I love that the candles burn equally and there's not a chunk of wax left on one side or a well of wax that doesn't burn. And the best part, smells amazing! I stopped by the store while on vacation. I've been hooked ever since!
